Generations have counted on the various incarnations of the Corolla to be affordable, reliable, and long-lived. The Corolla Hatchback continues to promise those attributes to buyers for model year 2027, with the added practicality of a larger cargo area with easy access. Besides being a bit more versatile than the sedan version, the hatchback has a sportier look that appeals to younger drivers – as well as those who are young at heart. The edgier sloped body style is complemented by sport-style front bucket seats, which add a track-inspired feel to the comfortable interior.
This time around, Toyota presents a simplified lineup of just two trim grades as the FX has made its exit. There are a couple of minor upgrades as well, with the SE adding a 7-inch digital instrument display, and the higher-priced XSE getting a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster along with a 10.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system (a step up from the 8-inch version in the base trim). Plus, buyers of either trim will receive a five-year trial of the Remote Connect service, allowing for remote interaction with the vehicle via the Toyota app.
