Land Cruiser
With a heritage that goes back almost seven decades, the Land Cruiser is a benchmark for rugged capability. This is still the case for the 2026 model year, as this legendary SUV stays ready for adventure while offering the modern technology, such as Toyota’s latest suite of driver-support features, expected by today’s drivers. The standard i-FORCE MAX gas-electric hybrid system allows the Land Cruiser to produce significant power while minimizing trips to the gas station.
In addition to the standard bumper-to-bumper (three years/36,000 miles) and powertrain warranty (five years/60,000 miles), the hybrid components are covered for eight years or 100,000 miles and the hybrid battery is protected for ten years or 150,000 miles. Land Cruiser buyers get ToyotaCare coverage as well, with two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled standard maintenance and two years of unlimited-mileage roadside assistance.

Two trims define the Land Cruiser’s lineup: the heritage-focused 1958 edition and the simply named Land Cruiser grade. Both feature Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, which integrates a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor positioned between the engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission. This configuration produces 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque, powering a full-time four-wheel-drive system with a two-speed transfer case. The EPA-estimated fuel economy is 22 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. When it’s properly equipped, the Land Cruiser can tow up to 6,000 pounds. Cargo capacity behind the second row is 46.2 cubic feet and 82.2 cubic feet with the back seats folded down.
Standard Features
The 1958 trim embraces retro styling cues, with round LED headlights and the old-style “TOYOTA” across the grille. Locking center and rear differentials and front skid plates support its off-road capabilities. This base trim’s comfort and convenience amenities include heated front seats, fabric upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, and LED fog lights. Toyota includes a windshield wiper de-icer, an analog gauge cluster with a 7-inch digital display, rear privacy glass, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-trimmed shift lever, LED cabin lighting, six USB ports, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The higher Land Cruiser grade is distinguished by a more modern-looking front end featuring slim rectangular LED headlights and Rigid LED color-selectable fog lights. Its more upscale elements include SofTex leatherette upholstery, heated and ventilated power front seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a power liftgate, and a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column. A 12.3-inch digital information display, a multi-terrain monitor, and roof rails are also on the standard equipment list. This trim can be upgraded with leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a driver’s memory system, a digital key, and wireless device charging.
Safety Technology
Every 2026 Land Cruiser comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This group of advanced safety features includes adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision system (with pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcycle detection), lane departure alert with steering assist, lane-tracing assist (which includes emergency stop if the driver becomes unresponsive), proactive driving assist, road sign assist, and automatic high beams. Both trims have blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, trailer sway control, safe exit alert, and front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking. The Land Cruiser trim is eligible for the optional front cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, and traffic jam assist. Both trims get ten airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, Smart Stop Technology, and a rearview monitor.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The 1958 features an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system, while the Land Cruiser grade has a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10-speaker setup, with an option for a premium JBL upgrade with 14 speakers. The larger display is optional on the 1958. Both trims include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and access to Toyota Connected Services.
