When Toyota launched the RAV4 in 1994, it started a trend that dominates American roads today, as they blended the ride height and space of an SUV with the handling of a sedan. Toyota is expected to redesign its SUV for the 2027 model year, but for now, the RAV4 remains largely unchanged for 2025. They elected to stop producing the Adventure and TRD Off-Road models and focus on their core trims, which make the Toyota RAV4 the most popular SUV selling in America.
Drivers of the current generation of the RAV4 appreciate the vehicle’s interior space compared to competitors, aggressive exterior, and Toyota’s continued use of a traditional transmission in the gas-powered model instead of a continuously variable gearbox, which is on their hybrid models and many competitor’s SUVs.
