The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) – formerly the RAV4 Hybrid Prime – is back with a new name for this model year but brings the same efficiency and capability. It’s considerably more powerful than its hybrid counterpart, generating 302 horsepower and able to tow up to 2,500 pounds (that’s 81 more horsepower and 750 more pounds of towing than the RAV4 Hybrid). It achieves that while returning 40 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and up to 94 combined MPGe, with a 42-mile all-electric range. Sporty interior trim and features like red-painted shock absorbers, upscale options like a moonroof or panoramic glass roof, and adventure-ready electronic on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD) make the 2025 RAV4 PHEV a clear choice for anyone looking for a versatile compact SUV.
Like all new 2025 Toyotas, the RAV4 PHEV comes with a ToyotaCare no-cost maintenance plan that covers regular factory-scheduled maintenance, including multipoint inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes for two years or 25,000 miles. Two years of 24-hour roadside assistance (unlimited miles) is included as well.

Toyota present the 2025 RAV4 PHEV in two trims: SE and XSE. Their powertrain couples a 177-hp 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two lithium-ion battery-powered electric motors (one front and one rear, generating a combined 288 lb.-ft. of torque), for a total system output of 302 horsepower.
