The three trims offered with the ’25 Corolla Hatchback are SE, Nightshade, and XSE. Each gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 169 horsepower; a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drivetrain complete the major mechanical picture. This model’s fuel economy estimates as determined by the EPA are remarkable, with the SE and Nightshade both achieving 32 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. With the XSE, fuel economy dips slightly to 30 city/38 highway.
The SE has a good standard equipment list, with proximity keyless entry, automatic climate control, push-button start, fabric upholstery, manually adjustable front seats, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a 60/40-split rear seatback with a folding center armrest and cupholders, heated power-adjustable side-view mirrors with turn-signal indicators, two USB charging ports, a 4.2-inch multi-information display, auto-on/off LED headlights and daytime running lights, LED taillights, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Nightshade is similar, but it’s differentiated by bronze-finished 18-inch alloy wheels and black exterior accents.
At the top of the hierarchy, the XSE builds off the base SE with SofTex upholstery, heated front seats with power adjustments for the driver, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster, side mirrors with blind-spot warning indicators, and LED fog lights.
Standard across all three ’25 Corolla Hatchback trims is the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of advanced driving aids. This bundle consists of a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, and proactive driving assist. While the SE and Nightshade are outfitted with a basic six-speaker sound system, the XSE goes with a top-notch eight-speaker JBL unit. Drive Connect service is found on all trims; it bundles Cloud Navigation with Google Points of Interest, Intelligent Assistant voice recognition, and Destination Assist.
