Trims and Powertrain

The 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid is available in four trims: S, SE, Nightshade, and XSE. The hybrid powerplant combines a 2.0-liter engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 196 horsepower. An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) with paddle shifters is standard. The EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings are the same for all four trims: 38 mpg city and 45 mpg highway.

Depending on the trim, you’ll have 21 to 24 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. If you have a small trailer, note that the 2025 Corolla Cross is capable of towing up to 1,500 pounds.

Standard Features

The S comes with push-button start, touch-sensor lock/unlock, remote keyless entry, all-black badging, automatic (single-zone) air conditioning with second-row vents and an air filter, LED projector low- and high-beam headlights with automatic high beams, LED brake lights, two front USB-C charging outlets, a 4.2-inch customizable color informational display, and 17-inch sport alloy wheels. The SE adds wireless device charging, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated power-adjustable side mirrors with built-in turn indicators, black painted roof rails, rear privacy glass, intermittent wipers (front and rear), and another pair of USB ports.

The Nightshade stands apart visually with black roof-rail crossbars, black accents around the headlights and taillights, two-tone upholstery with red contrast stitching, and exclusive 18-inch all-black alloy wheels. Both the SE and Nightshade qualify for the optional moonroof. The XSE has SofTex (simulated leather) upholstery, heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, a second automatic air-conditioning zone, a power-adjustable (10-way) driver’s seat, full LED exterior lighting (taillights, fog lights, front turn signals, and daytime running lights), mixed-media upholstery, a frameless rearview mirror, a 7-inch digital customizable gauge cluster, and 18-inch black sport alloy wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

All 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid trims have the Star Safety System, consisting of multiple stability, traction, and braking technologies. The well-regarded Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite comes standard as well, equipping all trims with a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, proactive driving assist, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. An overhead console Safety Connect button (service connection required) and rear seat reminder are also standard. All but the S add safe exit alert and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, while the XSE alone gets an enhanced backup camera with dynamic gridlines and front/rear parking assist with automatic braking.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Every 2025 Corolla Cross Hybrid has an 8-inch audio multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth. Six speakers are standard; a nine-speaker JBL premium audio system with subwoofer and amplifier is an option for all trims above the base. Subscriptions and/or trials are available for Wi-Fi, Safety Connect, remote app interaction, personalized service reports, and navigation.
