2022 Toyota Sienna for Sale in Smithfield, RI
Minivans had their heyday a few decades ago, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still a crucial part of the auto market. Drivers who need to transport a larger number of passengers relish this vehicle type’s practicality, especially when child seats or less-mobile folks are involved: the wide sliding doors and easy-access middle row can be a lifesaver. The 2022 Toyota Sienna has long earned its merits as a top contender in the minivan segment. It blends spaciousness, abundant features, good looks, and reliability with the latest active safety and infotainment technologies. When the Sienna was redesigned for model year 2021, it adopted a gas-electric powertrain, raising its appeal even higher with better fuel efficiency. For model year ’22, Toyota introduces the Woodland Edition, which gets standard all-wheel drive, a tow hitch, rooftop crossbars, and a tad more ground clearance than the other trims. Toyota is also donating $250 to the National Environmental Education Foundation each time somebody purchases this debuting edition.
Trims and Powertrain Specs
The Sienna comes in six trims – LE, XLE, XSE, Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum – and seats either seven or eight, depending on how the second row is configured. The hybrid powerplant makes a combined 245 horsepower and consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas-burning engine and two or three electric motors: FWD versions get two and AWD versions get three. An electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT) controls the gear ratios. As we said above, the Woodland Edition is strictly AWD, while the other trims get standard FWD but are eligible for AWD. The EPA states that the FWD Sienna will return 36 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the highway, while the AWD version gets a nearly identical 35 city/36 highway.
Features of Note
The LE gets a second-row bench seat that allows it to carry eight occupants. It also has tri-zone auto climate control, heated side mirrors (with built-in blind-spot indicators), LED headlights, keyless entry, a power driver’s seat, six USB charge ports, a USB media port, 18 beverage holders, power-sliding side doors, push-button ignition, rear privacy glass, and a third-row power-folding bench that splits 60/40. While the XLE swaps in a pair of captain’s chairs in place of the bench seat, buyers can opt to put the bench back in. Other highlights on the XLE are heated front seats, hands-free power-sliding side doors, a power liftgate, durable simulated leather seating, LED fog lights, Smart Key (for fob-free entry), a moonroof, four zones of auto climate control, a power front passenger’s seat, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, and an automatically dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink.
The XSE comes strictly with the captain’s chairs, along with an in-car PA system, sport-inspired front seats, a mesh grille, and black exterior trim. The Woodland Edition has the rugged upgrades mentioned in the intro, plus wireless phone charging and a 120V outlet. The Limited gets the wireless charging, but the 120V outlet becomes an option. This plush trim also gets upgraded exterior mirrors, genuine leather seats (ventilated in the front row) chrome exterior trim, position memory for the driver’s seat and outside mirrors, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a 7-inch multi-information display, and sunshades for the second and third rows. At the top of the hierarchy, the Platinum is loaded with a heated steering wheel, heated second-row captain’s chairs, signature LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 10-inch head-up display.
Safety and Technology
The Toyota Safety Sense bundle of advanced driver aids is standard issue in the ’22 Sienna. The LE’s version has automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. A blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert with reverse automatic braking are standard as well. Front and rear parking sensors are added at the XLE level, and the Platinum gets a surround-view monitor.
The Sienna’s infotainment system is complete with a 9-inch touchscreen, a sound system with six speakers, smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Two more speakers are added to the XLE and XSE; the Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum have navigation and a premium JBL audio system with 12 speakers.
Buyers can further load their 2022 Sienna with a number of optional bundles. The LE Plus Package (auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, wireless charging, a moonroof, black roof rails, and an eight-speaker sound system) is offered for the base trim. The XLE Plus and XSE Plus packages bolster their respective trim with wireless charging, a moonroof, and black-finished roof rails, plus the 12-speaker JBL sound system. The Entertainment Package is extended to the Woodland Edition, Limited, and Platinum; it adds a high-definition video entertainment center with an 11.6-inch display, an HDMI input, remote control, and two sets of wireless headphones.
