2021 Toyota Tundra for Sale in Smithfield, RI
The Toyota Tundra has earned its stripes as one of the most practical and capable full-sized pickup trucks on the market. With its vigorous V8 engine, spacious interior, and comprehensive suite of driver aids, it stands out in its class. For 2021, Toyota has made a few updates to this rugged beast of a truck. A new Nightshade Special Edition blacked-out appearance package is now available for the Limited trim level, and a new Trail Special Edition Package, which is based on the SR5 CrewMax and limited to 5,000 units, has been introduced.
Trims, Powertrain and Towing
The 2021 Toyota Tundra is made in six main trim levels: the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794 Edition, and TRD Pro. As mentioned, there are also Nightshade Special Edition and Trail Special Edition packages offered for the Limited and SR5 trims, respectively. The ’21 Tundra is sold in double cab and CrewMax (crew cab) configurations with three different bed lengths (5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, and 8.1 feet). The SR only comes with the double cab and either the 6.5-foot bed or the 8.1-foot bed. The Limited and TRD Pro only qualify for the 5.5-foot- or 6.5-foot bed, while the Platinum and 1794 Edition can only be configured with the CrewMax cab and the 5.5-foot bed. The sole powertrain is a 5.7-liter V8 engine (381 hp and 401 lb.-ft. of torque) with a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is the default, but four-wheel drive is optional on all but the TRD Pro, where it’s standard. The maximum towing capacity is 10,200 pounds (when properly equipped).
Standard and Optional Features
The SR gets front and rear mud guards, heated side mirrors, cloth seats, a 40/20/40 split fold-down front bench seat, 60/40 split fold-up rear seats, keyless entry, and a rearview camera. The SR5 adds halogen fog lights and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and it’s eligible for several optional packages. The SR5 Upgrade Package introduces a 38-gallon fuel tank, front bucket seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The TRD Sport Package delivers 20-inch wheels, Bilstein shocks, TRD front and rear anti-sway bars, LED headlights and fog lights, push-button ignition, TRD floor mats and decals, a TRD shift knob, an exclusive grille, and unique bumpers and mirror caps. The TRD Off-Road Package, which provides the TRD Sport Package’s features, contains 18-inch wheels, skid plates, and tow hooks. The all-new Trail Special Edition Package adds special 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a lockable bed storage box, the grille from the 1794 trim, a spray-in bedliner, and black seats with tan contrast stitching.
The Limited is loaded up with 20-inch wheels, chrome exterior accents, standard LED lighting, the 38-gallon fuel tank, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a power-sliding rear window. The optional Nightshade Special Edition supplies black 20-inch wheels, a dark chrome grille, black mirror caps, a black exhaust tip, black door handles, black badging, and black leather seats.
The Platinum spoils its occupants with perforated leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, a black honeycomb-style grille, and auto-dimming side mirrors with turn-signal indicators and memory functions. The 1794 Edition duplicates many of the same features as the Platinum, but it gets a trim-specific badge and is eligible for front tow hooks and skid plates for the engine and fuel tank. The off-road-oriented TRD Pro tops receives a special “Toyota” logo grille, Rigid Industries fog lights, a TRD front skid plate, Fox shock absorbers, a revised suspension with a 2-inch lift, black leather seats, 18-inch BBS forged-aluminum wheels, and TRD Pro decals and badges.
Safety and Technology
All trims come with the Toyota Safety Sense system of driver aids, which groups forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. The SR5’s Convenience Package will add front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, which the Limited can also add via the Limited Premium Package. While these features are standard on the Platinum and 1794 Edition, they aren’t available on the TRD Pro.
The SR gets an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, satellite radio, and a six-speaker audio system. The SR5 comes with a seven-speaker audio system on double cab models and a nine-speaker audio system on CrewMax models; its infotainment system also upgrades to an 8-inch touchscreen and adds HD radio, a USB media port, and two USB charge ports. Integrated navigation is optional, although it’s included by the Limited. The Platinum and higher get a premium 12-speaker JBL audio system.
