2021 Toyota Corolla Apex for Sale in Smithfield, RI
The Toyota Corolla has something to prove in 2021: that some four-door sedans are anything but boring. For driving enthusiasts all across the U.S., the limited-edition 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex promises to deliver a whole new level of performance. Distinguished by its advanced handling and an aggressive new design that exemplifies its athletic chops, this very special Corolla will have several performance-oriented attributes to brag about, including track-tuned chassis upgrades and special shock absorbers complete with internal rebound springs. To ensure that it’s ready for action, this very special variation of the Corolla underwent extensive track tests across the globe, namely at the TMC Higashi-Fuju Proving Ground in Japan, the Toyota Arizona Paving Ground, and the MotorSport Ranch in Texas. The Apex edition will be available for the 2021 Toyota Corolla SE and XSE trim levels and will be limited to 6,000 units.
The 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex commands attention with its sleek, low-profile design and aerodynamic black body with bronze accents, a front spoiler, fog light covers, side moldings, and a rear diffuser. The 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex comes with unique coil springs that lower the vehicle by 0.6 inches; this increased spring rate reduces the roll angle to deliver flatter cornering and steering response. The specially tuned shocks with internal rebound springs will increase the damping force that controls vertical and roll movement, and the solid stabilizer bars decrease roll angle while enhancing overall agility. Not just that, but new jounce bumpers keep the lower ride height from negatively affecting the ride quality. According to Toyota, the Corolla Apex’s suspension improves roll stiffness by 47% in the front and 33% in the rear.
Style – Inside and Out
The 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex will have 18-inch aluminum wheels with a gloss-black appearance. These wheels have been developed to help cool the brakes while also shedding 2.2 pounds per wheel. The bronze/black combo goes well with the three available paint colors: Black Sand Pearl, Cement with a Black Sand Pearl roof, and Super White with a Black Sand Pearl roof. No matter which you choose, the 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex will get black mirror caps.
In addition, triple J-shaped clearance lamps with LED lights and LED turn signals give the 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex a distinct and confident face. In the rear, the LED taillamps get smoked outer lenses that provide a unique look. Inside, the SE models will have premium fabric upholstery, while the XSE versions upgrade to black SofTex-trimmed fabric. Heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s seat will also be given to this trim.
Power, Performance and Tech
Under the hood of the 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex is a 169-horsepower 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine, the same powerplant found in the standard Toyota Corolla SE and XSE trims. The transmission choices are a Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT) or a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT). EPA estimates indicate that CVT models will return 30 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway, while iMT models will get 28 city/35 highway.
Both 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex trims include Smart Key with push-button ignition, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, a USB media port, a USB charge port, Bluetooth hands-free and audio streaming, and satellite radio. The optional amenities include a nine-speaker JBL audio system, voice recognition, and integrated navigation with points of interest and destination assist functionalities.
The Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver-assist technologies will be standard on the Corolla Apex. This consists of pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist and road edge detection, automatic high beams, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert will be standard on the XSE and optional on the CVT SE.
