The 2024 RAV4 Hybrid can be had in seven trim levels: LE, XLE, Woodland Edition, XLE Premium, SE, XSE, and Limited. Their powertrain pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with electric motors and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT); the output is 219 net horsepower. Every trim has electronic on-demand AWD and a drive mode dial with settings for Normal, Eco, Sport, EV Mode, and Trail. All RAV4 Hybrid trims will achieve an estimated 41 mpg city/38 mpg highway, except for the Woodland Edition, which returns an EPA-estimated 38 mpg city and 35 mpg highway. A factory tow hitch receiver and wiring harness is optional; with this installed, the RAV4 Hybrid can tow up to 1,750 pounds.
The LE has cloth seats, automatic on/off LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, roof rails, a dual chrome-tipped exhaust, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear-seat vents, a 7-inch digital multi-information display, a day/night rearview mirror, a height-adjustable rear cargo area deck board, three USB ports, and two 12 V/120 W auxiliary power outlets. The XLE distinguishes itself with embossed polygon-design seat inserts, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, two more USB ports (total of five), heated power outside mirrors, a tonneau cover for the cargo area, and a smart key system with touch-sensor lock/unlock feature on the front doors.
The Woodland Edition is unique in both appearance and performance with a TRD-tuned suspension (with trail-ready shocks, struts, coil springs, and bump stops), 18-inch alloy wheels with Falken Wildpeak all-terrain tires, integrated fog lights, trim-specific all-weather floor mats and cargo liner, front/rear mudguards, and a black design treatment across the outside mirrors, door handles, dual exhaust outlets, and exterior badging. A rear activity mount and raised roof rails (black) with cross bars make it easy to transport recreational equipment with this trim.
The XLE Premium gains SofTex upholstery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift lever, a power moonroof, and a height-adjustable power liftgate with jam protection. The SE and XSE have sport-tuned suspensions with blue-painted shock absorbers, but their appearances otherwise differ both inside and out. The SE has fabric upholstery with blue stitching that extends into the dash, while the XSE gets the same blue stitching but with SofTex upholstery, along with blue ambient cabin lighting, heated front seats, a two-tone exterior color with a Midnight Black Metallic roof, and vertical LED accent lighting. The Limited switches to a dark-brown-accented interior with brown stitching throughout the SofTex seats, dash, and doors. Its other upgrades include a 12.3-inch digital multi-information display, an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system, and puddle lights within the outside mirrors; it’s eligible for the available panoramic glass roof with front power tilt/slide moonroof.
Toyota gives every RAV4 Hybrid trailer-sway control, a vehicle proximity notification system, and the following Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 (TSS 2.5) features: automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, and road sign assist. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is added at the XLE level, while the Limited adds front and rear parking assist with automatic braking. Those who order the XLE may opt for the Premium Grade Advanced Technology Package to get front and rear parking assist (these are standard with the Limited). A 360-degree panoramic view monitor is an option for the XSE and Limited.
The base LE comes well-appointed with an 8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with Android Auto compatibility, wireless Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. Plus, owners get trial access to Toyota connected services such as Safety Connect, Service Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, Drive Connect, and Remote Connect. The XSE and Limited move up to a 10.5-inch touchscreen, with the Limited also getting a premium JBL audio system that has 11 speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier (these upgrades are optional for the XLE Premium).
