The rear-drive 2024 GR Supra will be sold in four trim choices: 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and 45th Anniversary Edition. The 2.0 receives a turbocharged 2.0-liter twin-scroll four-cylinder engine making 255 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, whereas the remaining trims get a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 382 hp and 368 lb.-ft. of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters (steering wheel mounted) is standard across the board, but GR Supras with the 3.0-liter powerplant (that’s all except the 2.0) qualify for the more hands-on six-speed manual. This is the first time since that the reborn Supra has a manual option outside of a special edition.
According to the EPA, the 2.0 returns an estimated 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and 45th Anniversary Edition with the automatic gearbox get 23 city/31 highway, but with the stick shift, they’ll give you 19 city/27 highway.
The 2.0 is equipped well with the likes of auto-leveling LED headlights, proximity keyless entry (Smart Key), heated driver’s-side auto-dimming side mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down, push-button ignition, an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster, sport seats upholstered in Alcantara leather, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, carbon-fiber interior trim, two-zone automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The 3.0 adds auto-folding side mirrors and heated seats with power adjustability, and both the side mirrors and driver’s seat are set up with position memory. The 3.0 Premium is upgraded with leather upholstery, sport pedals, a head-up display, and a wireless phone charger. The 45th Anniversary Edition is visually distinct thanks to its matte-black wheels, manually adjustable rear spoiler, black “Supra” side graphic, and orange strut tower braces.
The 2024 GR Supra is equipped with some advanced safety-assist technologies that make a collision less likely. Those features are a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, automatic high beams, hill start assist, and brake assist. To protect the occupants in the event of a collision, Toyota also provides front, side curtain, and knee airbags.
In the 2.0, the driver and passenger will stay connected to the rest of the world with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s set up with Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a four-speaker audio system. The 3.0 ramps up to a 10-speaker sound system for the ultimate listening experience, while the 3.0 Premium and 45th Anniversary Edition add a layer of convenience with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Toyota Supra Connect.
