2022 Toyota RAV4 for Sale in Smithfield, RI
Trims and Specifications
The 2022 RAV4 comes in six trims: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. Under the hood of each sits a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 203 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque – numbers that rank high against most of the RAV4’s direct competitors. The standard front-wheel-drive (FWD) setup can be upgraded to all-wheel drive (AWD is standard on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road). An eight-speed automatic gearbox manages the drivetrain.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy for a FWD-equipped 2022 RAV4 is 27 mpg around town and 35 mpg on the highway (this changes to 28 mpg/city for the XLE and XLE Premium). The numbers change slightly with AWD: The LE gets 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the open road (highway ratings go up to 34 mpg for the XLE and XLE premium). Fuel economy for the Adventure and Limited switches to 25 mpg city/33 mpg highway (highway mpg drops to 32 for the TRD Off-Road).
Standard Features and Options
The LE has a nice blend of basic and upscale features: LED exterior lighting, power side mirrors, fabric seating with a 60/40-split folding rear bench, rear climate vents, a 4.2-inch driver information display, and 17-inch steel wheels with six-spoke wheel covers. The popular XLE trim adds a multi-terrain drive mode system (AWD only), dual-zone automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, an eight-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, and power heated side mirrors. Push-button ignition, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a cargo cover are standard, too. The optional XLE Weather Package will add a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers, while the available Convenience Package furnishes a power liftgate and a power moonroof.
The XLE Premium has all the equipment of the XLE with the Convenience Package plus leatherette-trimmed seating, LED fog lights, and 19-inch alloy wheels. It can be loaded further with the optional XLE Premium Grade Weather Package (heated front seats, heated leather-trimmed steering wheel, driver’s seat position memory, and rain-sensing wipers). The Adventure takes all the features of the XLE (along with the same optional packages) and adds unique black-themed exterior accents, including large overfenders, leatherette-trimmed seating with orange accents, a 7-inch driver information display, and 19-inch black-matte wheels.
Expanding on the Adventure is the TRD Off-Road; it’s the most capable RAV4 with equipment designed for travel beyond the pavement. Among its special features are a TRD-tuned suspension, all-terrain tires on 18-inch flow-formed alloy wheels, and a stainless-steel front skid plate. There are also unique exterior accents, a power moonroof, and a power liftgate. The TRD Off-Road version of the Weather Package adds heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing wipers.
The Limited gets all of the standard features listed for the XLE Premium and adds upgraded Bi-LED headlights, heated front seats, a digital rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, a 7-inch driver information display, and dark-brown interior accents. The optional Weather Package adds heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing wipers. The available Advanced Technology Package supplies a power moonroof, wireless device charging, a power liftgate, five-door proximity keyless access, and a surround-view overhead monitor.
Driver Safety Technology
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 comes standard across the RAV4 lineup to furnish a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, radar cruise control, automatic high beams, and road sign assist. The other standard equipment includes eight airbags, and the Star Safety system with enhanced vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, and Smart Stop Technology (to counter unintended acceleration). A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is optional on the LE and included on all of the other trims. Front and rear parking assist with automatic braking is standard on the Limited and included within the TRD Off-Road Advanced Technology Package. Both the Limited and TRD Off-Road are eligible for the available Bird’s-Eye View Camera with Perimeter Scan as part of the Advanced Technology Package.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The base infotainment system has a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM satellite radio, multiple USB ports (the number varies by trim), and access to Toyota Connected Services and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The optional Audio Plus (XLE, XLE Premium, and Adventure) upgrades the setup with a 9-inch touchscreen and an 11-speaker audio system (XLE Premium and Adventure). The Premium Audio Package (available on the TRD Off-Road and standard on the Limited) upgrades the standard 9-inch touchscreen with navigation and an 11-speaker JBL sound system.
