2022 Toyota Corolla Cross for Sale in Smithfield, RI
The Toyota Corolla has long been praised for its reliability, efficiency, and value. For model year 2022, there’s even more, as Toyota introduces the Corolla Cross, an all-new compact crossover variant that offers a higher stance, added space, and more utility. It’s a daring take on the storied compact sedan revered for decades for its trifecta of affordability, reliability, and efficiency. The Corolla Cross makes a statement with its modern lines, taller body, and black exterior accents. While its interior shares many similarities with the Corolla sedan and hatchback models, the Corolla Cross will be undeniably more spacious and versatile. Size-wise, it sits right in between the C-HR and RAV4, making it the ideal middle ground. There’s quite a bit to report, so let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from this brand-new model, which is slated to be released later this year.
Trims and Mechanical Specs
The Corolla Cross will be sold in three trim levels: L, LE, and XLE – with each getting a 169 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission (the same powertrain as the S-grade Corolla sedan and hatchback). Front-wheel drive will be standard, and all-wheel drive will be available; all trims will be rated to tow up to 1,500 pounds. According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimates, the FWD Corolla Cross will return 32 mpg in city/highway driving combined; with AWD, it’ll get 30 mpg combined.
Standard and Optional Features
The all-new Corolla Cross will offer a ton of great features for its driver and passengers to enjoy. Its standard amenities will include automatic climate control with rear air-conditioning and heating vents, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat for the ultimate versatility in carrying cargo. The Corolla Cross will also qualify for a moonroof, all-weather floor mats, SofTex (simulated leather) seats, a 7-inch Multi-Information Display with a digital instrumentation cluster, wireless smartphone charging, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, rear-seat USB ports, and rear seats with a center armrest and two cupholders. On the outside, there will be available LED headlights, a power liftgate with height adjustment, and roof-rack crossbars.
Everyone will stay entertained and connected to the outside world via an infotainment system with a standard 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and three months of complimentary SiriusXM satellite radio. For audio enthusiasts, a booming 11-speaker JBL sound system will be available. Remote Connect is optional, too, to allow you to stay in touch with your Corolla Cross even when you aren’t physically inside it.
All three trims will also receive the Toyota Safety Sense bundle of advanced driver aids. The base version consists of a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, and full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert will be standard in the LE and XLE, while front and rear park assist with automatic braking will be exclusive to the loaded XLE.
