2022 Toyota Corolla Cross for Sale in Smithfield, RI

Overview

The Corolla nameplate has long represented the traits that most drivers look for in a vehicle: reliability, efficiency, and value. Toyota expanded that legacy for model year 2022 when it introduced the Corolla Cross, a compact crossover that offers a higher stance, added interior space, and a higher utility factor. It’s a daring take on the storied compact car that so many have loved for decades, with plenty of these long-lived models being passed down through families as the perfect first car for a new driver. The Corolla Cross makes a statement with its modern lines, taller body, and black exterior accents. While its interior shares many similarities with the Corolla sedan and hatchback models, the Corolla Cross offers the advantage of additional cargo space to those who need it. Size-wise, it sits right in between the C-HR and RAV4, making it the ideal middle ground.

Trims and Powertrain

Toyota presents the Corolla Cross in a simple lineup of three trim levels: L, LE, and XLE. Their powertrain is made up of a 169 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission (this is the same powertrain found in the S trim of the Corolla sedan and hatchback). Front-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive available. According to the EPA’s official fuel economy estimates, the FWD Corolla Cross achieves 32 mpg in city/highway driving combined; with AWD, it’ll get 30 mpg combined. While you won’t be able to pull anything too large, the Corolla Cross can handle a trailer and contents weighing up to a combined 1,500 pounds.

Standard and Available Features

The L trim starts things off with cloth seats, LED headlights with automatic high beams, heated exterior mirrors, air conditioning, an air filter, and an overhead console. The LE adds push-button ignition, upgraded heated side mirrors with turn-signal and blind-spot indicators, roof rails, door handles with touch-sensor lock/unlock (front row only), rear privacy glass, single-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The XLE is more loaded, getting a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, two zones of auto climate control, LED fog lights, ambient interior lighting, a leather-wrapped shift knob, SofTex simulated leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 7-inch multi-information display, and a tonneau cover for the cargo area.

Infotainment System

The Corolla Cross’s infotainment system keeps everyone entertained and connected to the outside world. The version in the base L gets a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, smartphone integration (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an audio system with six speakers. The LE and XLE are upgraded with an 8-inch touchscreen and eligibility for the optional JBL sound system with nine speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier.

Advanced Safety Technologies

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard across all three trims, equipping them with automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning with steering assist, lane keep assist, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is added at the LE level, and the XLE also gets front and rear parking sensors and reverse automatic braking.
