2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid for Sale in Smithfield, RI
The 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid continues to flaunt the improvements made as part of its redesign for the 2019 model year, such as the slightly more powerful engine and exceptional combined fuel economy at 44 mpg. Another notable gain from the redesign is the additional 2 cubic feet of trunk capacity, thanks to the reduced size of the car’s battery and its relocation from the trunk area to beneath the back seat. Although the hybrid costs more than $1,000 more than the conventional model, the less-frequent gassing up will quickly make up for the slight price bump.
Trims and Powertrain
There are three grades of the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid offered: the XLE, XSE, and Limited. Powering each of these is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, resulting in a powertrain that produces a combined system output of 215 horsepower. All versions are front-wheel drive and use a continuously variable transmission.
Comfort and Convenience
The base XLE is outfitted with LED headlights, heated power side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, keyless entry and ignition, a rearview camera, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, SofTex simulated-leather upholstery, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The XSE is the sporty variation, marked by larger wheels, a sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and perforated Ultrasuede front sport seats. The Limited, the luxury trim, adds a few lavish touches, such as genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Safety & Technology
All trims come with a nice grouping of driver-assist technologies through the Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) system. This includes a pre-collision system that detects pedestrians, lane departure warning with steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert also comes standard. On the Limited trim, the available Advanced Safety Package provides rear parking sensors, a bird’s-eye camera, and intelligent clearance sonar with rear cross-traffic braking. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid a five-star safety rating.
The XLE and XSE are generously equipped with connectivity amenities that you’d normally find on a higher-level trim, such as an infotainment system with a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa with voice recognition, Bluetooth wireless technology, an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot, smartphone-based navigation, four USB data ports, an eight-speaker audio system, and satellite and HD radio. The Limited also gets a wireless charging pad, a head-up display, integrated navigation, and a premium 14-speaker JBL audio system.
