Trims and Mechanical Features

This year’s RAV4 is available in five different trims (LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, and Limited) with a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine with dual variable valve timing with intelligence. This powerplant delivers 203 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. All models are equipped with front-wheel drive (with all-wheel drive available), except for the Adventure trim, which comes standard with AWD. All trims also come standard with a direct shift 8-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence and sequential shift mode. The FWD versions deliver up to an EPA-rated 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the AWD trims produce up to 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

The base LE model comes standard with a load of great features, such as a climate control system with dust and pollen filter, integrated backup camera, remote keyless entry system, the Entune 3.0 audio/infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Toyota’s patented Safety Sense driver-assist/safety technology suite. The higher-tier XLE gets a power tilt/slide moonroof, dual-zone auto climate control, a smart key system with push-button start, and four additional USB ports. While it’s similar to the XLE, the XLE Premium upgrades from cloth to SofTex-trimmed seating surfaces and from 17-inch to 19-inch chrome alloy wheels. The Star Safety System adds enhanced vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, and brake assist with smart stop technology. In addition, the RAV4 prides itself on its advanced eight-airbag system and Safety Connect, which includes emergency assistance, stolen vehicle locator, and roadside assistance and automatic collision notification.
